Unfortunately DR do not support the "Media created" field/column so we need to remain on window explorer on Finder in case of mac OS. I import "Footage" folder to DR and it's done. At this point I know when it was created/recorded so I manage the files into date folders (It will depend on your workflow and project structure, for me works due I have more than one day and camera on my footage)ģ. Set in window view preferences a column of what I call the "DataB" or "Media created" (R-click on columns > More > Media created, Mark the checkbox) this date it won't change no matter how many times you modified the file.Ģ. So, as I show in the picture, my client sent my some files that where copied multiples time and I do the following: (Kind of confusing) Further, if you take any of those files and copy/paste again, dates on DataA will change and you can find yourself with a date created and modified been the same or not matching with the date when it was recorded.

When you download the files into your workstation instantaneously "Date created" is set to the date of it file is copied to the computer and "Date modify" appears as the date when it was created/recorded. What happens is when a file is created by a camera (Or any other programs/app) 2 data is stamped. More over when client send all the files that have been copied and recopied multiples times
Yet I found a work around with Window 10 to manage it (I think on Mac Finder it will be similar). I know this is very old, 3 years old, until now we pretty much experience the same issue.
